This is where the “greatest game shows of all time” argument actually gets serious.
No reality shows. No survival challenges. Just the shows you grew up watching and arguing about without realizing it. Jeopardy! trying to prove it’s the smartest. The Price Is Right acting like fun matters more than anything else. Wheel of Fortune quietly sticking around while everyone debates louder options.
Then it gets messy.
Family Feud turns into a debate about whether chaos beats structure. Millionaire raises the stakes and dares everything else to match the tension. Press Your Luck is basically a test of self-control. And somewhere in the middle, shows like Supermarket Sweep and Double Dare sneak in and remind you this was never supposed to be that serious.
That’s the problem with this list. There isn’t one definition of “best.” It depends on what you care about.
Do you want intelligence? Luck? Strategy? Or just something you can’t stop watching?
