Regular Doritos are good. Doritos 3D felt like the future.
These things were louder, crunchier, and somehow more fun to eat than normal chips. Kids didn’t even care what flavor they were half the time. The shape alone carried them. You could dump an entire bag during a sleepover without realizing it. Dangerous snack behavior.
Planters Cheez Balls had the giant tub advantage, but Doritos 3D brought actual drama to the table. Every bite sounded like somebody stepping on drywall. That matters. And unlike some nostalgia snacks people only pretend to miss, fans genuinely got angry when Doritos 3D disappeared.
The relaunch only made the debate nastier because plenty of people swear the new version isn’t even close. So now the argument isn’t just “best discontinued snack.” It’s original Doritos 3D vs fake comeback Doritos 3D too.
