Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1971)

A golden ticket, a mysterious candy maker, and a chocolate factory where absolutely anything might happen. Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory is the kind of movie that can transport you straight back to childhood. Gene Wilder's Willy Wonka is funny, strange, charming, and just a little unsettling, while Charlie's adventure gives the story its heart. The songs, the Oompa-Loompas, and that first look inside the factory are hard to forget. But can childhood nostalgia beat the adventure of Star Wars or the musical energy of Grease? Maybe the best 70s movie isn't the biggest or the most serious. Maybe it's the one that still makes you feel like you've found a golden ticket. Cast your votes and find out.
