The Terminator (1984)

Before Arnold Schwarzenegger became the good guy in Terminator 2, he was the nightmare nobody could escape. The Terminator dropped a relentless cyborg into 1980s Los Angeles with one mission: eliminate Sarah Connor. No speeches, no mercy, and barely a hint of humanity. Arnold's cold stare and mechanical movements made him more frightening than a dozen monsters. The nightclub attack, the police station massacre, and the relentless pursuit give this movie an intensity that its bigger-budget sequel approaches differently. Some fans will always choose the original because it's darker, tighter, and genuinely scary. Others want the spectacle and heart of T2.
