Rent

Rent

Rent is messy, emotional, and completely unapologetic about it. That’s why it still shows up in this conversation. It pushed boundaries—but it also romanticized struggle in a way that doesn’t sit right with everyone anymore. Against Hamilton, it feels less polished but more personal. Against Book of Mormon, it’s sincere where Mormon is ruthless. And that sincerity is what divides people. Some see truth in it. Others see a time capsule that didn’t age well. Rent doesn’t try to be perfect. The question is whether that makes it real… or just flawed.
