Puss in Boots: The Last Wish

Puss walks in expecting another victory lap and gets something much more uncomfortable: a reminder that even legendary cats run out of lives. The Last Wish keeps all the swagger, swordplay, comedy, and absurd confidence that made Puss fun, then adds fear, vulnerability, and actual stakes without draining the movie’s energy. That is a dangerous combination in this bracket. The Lion King can beat it on childhood mythology. The Aristocats can argue it feels more purely feline. But few contenders can match the way this movie lets a cat be ridiculous one minute and genuinely shaken the next. Even the bravado starts to mean more because you see what sits underneath it.
