Matilda (book)

Imagine being the smartest person in the room while every adult treats you like you're the problem. Matilda Wormwood had books, brains, and eventually powers that made Miss Trunchbull wish she'd picked on somebody else. Roald Dahl gave us a kid who refused to accept that grown-ups were always right, and that's a fantasy almost every child understands. Miss Honey brought the heart, Trunchbull brought the nightmares, and Matilda brought the revenge. But does that combination beat the friendship in Charlotte's Web or the wild imagination of The BFG? For anyone who ever felt underestimated, Matilda isn't just a great story. She's the ultimate childhood wish come true. Is she your number one?
