Jayden Daniels

Jayden Daniels

Jayden Daniels didn’t ease into the NFL. He showed up wearing No. 5 and immediately started making Washington football feel dangerous again. The scrambling, deep balls, late-game nerve, and that Hail Mary against Chicago turned his rookie season into appointment viewing, and taking Washington all the way to the NFC Championship Game made the hype impossible to dismiss. Daniels has the weirdest case in this entire league because his résumé is still being written. Put him against Joe DiMaggio or Albert Pujols and the longevity argument becomes almost comical. Put him against Donovan McNabb, though, and suddenly things get spicy: two NFC East quarterbacks, both wearing 5, both responsible for changing the mood of a franchise. Daniels brings something the older legends can’t touch—right-now electricity. Is that enough to beat decades of accomplishment, or does he need a lot more Sundays before he belongs?
