Doug didn’t need monsters, mutant powers, or a secret laboratory. Surviving school, talking to Patti Mayonnaise, hanging with Skeeter, and dealing with Roger was plenty. Its case is built on relatability and pure early-90s kid energy, with Quailman arriving whenever ordinary life needed a little imagination. Hey Arnold! is the matchup that immediately hurts: two grounded shows about kids trying to figure things out. Doug probably isn’t the loudest contender in this field, but for the people who grew up with Bluffington, it might be one of the hardest to vote against.
