Courage is scared because Courage has correctly assessed the situation. His world is packed with monsters, villains, bizarre visitors, and things no reasonable dog should be expected to handle. Then he handles them anyway. Courage versus Scooby-Doo is the matchup this league needs: two frightened dogs facing creepy threats, with very different worlds around them. Against Jake, it’s panic versus laid-back confidence. Being fearless is easy when nothing scares you. Does Courage get more credit for showing up terrified?
